Michael Pilson to Present the 2016 Gehrenbeck Lecture
Professor emeritus Michael Pilson of the URI Graduate School of Oceanography will deliver the Twenty-first Annual Richard K. Gehrenbeck Memorial Lecture on the History of Science on Tuesday, November 29, at 8:00 PM in Clarke Science 125 at Rhode Island College.
The lecture, Arrhenius and Some Others, and a little CO2, is intended for a general audience. Professor Pilson will speak about a small mystery solved and the contributions of four individuals who had pivotal roles in the development of the concept we now think of as global warming. All are invited to attend the lecture.
The lecture is sponsored by the Gehrenbeck Fund in the Rhode Island College Foundation and by the Physical Sciences Department. For more information, a poster, and a flier with an abstract of the talk, visit http://www.ric.edu/faculty/organic/gehrenbeck/
